What did everyone think of the show?  Good quality cattle imo.  First time for my kids at this show.  They showed well, cattle behave tremendously for their first time out, and the payouts were very generous considering where we placed.  Great experience.  Thank you to the people who put this on and sponsored it, very well run.  Will be back next year. Our kids had a good day also.  The calves hadn't been touched since Badger Kickoff in December until Thursday night.  Not the way I like to do it, just how the time worked out.  Caroline won one of the the Angus classes and the junior showmanship.  Bodie was third in his Simmental class.  Always good to get that first show under our belt to get back in the groove.  Pay outs were great.

Thanks Freeborn County Cattlemen!

My first time at the show as well.  I was really confused when they were picking championship lineups?  Not sure what the judge was thinking.  Plus people in the crowd had no idea what was going on.  Would have been nice if they would have anounced the results or said what they were doing.  Judged just started picking cattle, didn't even give time for some of the reserves to come back.  Was too bad for some exhibitors.

I thought the judge was BAD he contradicted himself so many times it was pathetic. And if your calf had Lautner stamped on it it was a guarantee no matter how crippled it was. But i am sure the crippled up tube gutted maintainer heifer with the prettied up girl on the halter will be the next donor animal to rob the club calf world. I am pretty sure this isn't what it is all about!!

This was our first year to exhibit at this show and we had a good time.  We had champion Charolais with our composite heifer, and 3rd in class with our Maine heifer.  I agree that the payouts were very generous.  Quality of cattle were very good.

Nice show, we will be back next year.
