The market has dropped off alot because of the flooded market in the south. What weight are you looking at, what are you doing with the calves. Keep in mind that in the spring both feeders and replacements heifers will be in high demand because much of the south has sold due to drought and many people are going to be wanting quality calves so buy as many as your budget allows. Buy good calves know keep them till spring then sell in about march when prices go sky high.
where are you in ohio.. ?.....i noticed a few folks in athens co (ohio) and wood co (wva.)( home of the old mineral wells stock yard) area, still had hay still for sale and some were bartering hay for stock as well in the local advertiser.....i'm with showsteerdelux...i think i would hold on to as many as i could till spring...prices..in athens co and surronding areas have been very low....those who have hay are picking up great deals...and again , for those that are willing to barter,... ive seen a few win/ wins situations where folks are picking up some nice stock for some decent hay, and vice versa....just a thought...jbarl
