I honestly don't like him. The calves that I've seen out of him aren't made right and I'd advise to stay away. Some say that he is a carcass great, but I was told that the test he took to get that score isn't even available anymore so he'll have that status for the rest of his life (haven't had this confirmed so anyone with more knowledge feel free to prove me wrong here, but was told by someone who I think got their story straight). Why not go with his more proven, consistent brother NJW 1Y Wrangler 19D? Or the many other Hereford Bulls out there? Just my thoughts.

here's his bovigen panel results.  notice 5/6 stars for tenderness, 1/8 stars for carcass.

if his +score on im fat compared to his full brother are any indication, his full brother will have even less im fat based on his score too.  5/8 stars on fe.

interesting to see a stouter made bull with the tenderness markers.

looks like he has a pigmented scrotum, but none on the eyes.

here's the full brother

he too has pigment on his scrotum

here's a hereford bull with some IM fat

I was wondering because he's like the grand sire of my two best heifers and i didnt know a whole lot about him so i was looking him up. These heifers have a lot of volume and size, they are going to make great cows. I did see some of his daughter and there was only one out of the bunch i really liked but these heifers are great.

Who is the sire of your heifers?

LCR Right Time. I guess he won some championships in oregon.

I see, his dam is a Stockmaster 512 granddaughter and he's a pretty good bull. Good luck with your heifers.

Thanks. LCR Right Time came from Little Creek Ranch in Parma (Jim Clark) who produces a lot of winners. And is now owned by the guy i get a lot of my cattle from.

Renegade,
I just sold an MC Ranger daughter this fall after many years of her working in the pasture. She wasn't the prettiest cow, but she did a good job, bred back every year, had good feet and was one of those cows nobody notices as she just went quietly about her business. I didn't use alot of MC Ranger because I found he packed some pretty hefty birthweights. However, you can't argue with the maternal clout of Wrangler 832W cattle - I think they are the most functional and efficient cattle in the Hereford breed. Probably greater than 85% of our cowherd goes back to the Wrangler lines...and the ones that don't are Shorthorns  ;D
