I have a 900 lb steer that I am giving melatonin to. For his hair and to make sure he's calm.  He is pretty good for the most part, but growing everyday. He just acts skiddish around other people and before I take him to a show  I want to make sure we can  take the edge off. I will not risk safety for the sake of showing him. Ace is NOT an option for us and  for us, I dont think calf calm  is all that good.He is broke to lead- sometimes he just decides he wants to do the leading. I gave him 7 yesterday and 7 today. Is that enough and when we be able to notice a difference ? thanks..

Triple what you gave him for two days and you should see a difference.  We gave a heifer 40 a day for three days before state fair one year and it took the edge off. She wasn't real gentle to start with though, and it doesn't make them dopey like Ace will.
