Meyer x angus cow

I have a Meyer 734 x Angus (traveler 6807) that is a straight load. Huge huge middle and super deep bodied and pretty stout. Big topped and level hipped and perfect udder. I want to breed her to make club calf producing females. She is a frame 6 that is perfect for me. She needs some neck extension and a touch of hair. I was thinking whiskey, but he won't help with neck/hair. Any suggestions? Th free bulls please, no heat wave, remember I don't want to downsize her.

Went back through our records and the best Meyer grand daughter we have is a Mossy Oak, and a Dr. Who. We have had some I80s this year and I know they are young but that cross is not blowing me away. He did work well on a Monopoly daughter.

The king of meyer x angus cows if you look at Collins cattle was Irish Whiskey. He won't take much away in the way of neck. If you are worried about carriers there is a full brother and sons that would work. I like Mossy Oak as an option. One of our best cows is mossy oak x chi/ma/ang. Hannibal over who made who for size wise. WMW might take them down a notch but will make them pretty fronted. I am not a fan of Dr. Who's attitudes. Old school Calberta Black Impact will make them pretty as well and is high maine. We haven't played with the recent bulls yet to say.

I like Brandon Horn's Yellow Jacket son. Really nice extension through the front. Think he would be perfect on a Meyer x 6807. Check him out.

CMAC Tyson and Hard Whiskey might be a nice match up and will put some extension through the front also and give you some maternal value. Both will add hair.

Depends on what flavor you want.  If your end goal is steers out of the female you'll hopefully get from this breeding, you want something with some size - frame 5+.

If you want black, I'd consider something from the Irish Whiskey line.  I wouldn't hesitate to use one of the Irish Whiskey sons.  Cerveza females are knocking it out of the park now.  I wouldn't be scared to try Direct Whiskey.  Frostback really hit on something with Mossy Oak though.  His females are very underrated.  There are some real good calves being raised out of his daughters.

If you want color, I'd use a PB Charolais bull - one of Kris Black's (i.e. George), Firewater, or such.  I'd go no lower than half blood Charolais without any HW influence - Yellowjacket would sure work.  In fact on second thought, he might be my first choice.  His females are about to be valuable, valuable, valuable.

I like Hannibal but the amount of middle he takes away scares me, although I do see daughters of his that when built right are beautiful. I am a cervesa fan and love the whiskey like. What do you think about cervesa necks? The end goal would yes be steers, color does not matter at all to me, a good female is a good female. Do you mean "lovin the business" by Brandon horns bull? I like who made who too as well as dr who. I lean towards the Maine genetics because in steer production you almost need that influence for hair and style consistently. Friction, whiskey, and who da man I am throwing in the same catagory here based on their price.  Is this female flush worthy? Yes I believe so, BUT I want her to prove herself first, plus I have a large egg inventory

I dont have any in production but just had a couple Meyer X Irish Whiskey embryos born. So yes I think that works too.

On other cows.  But I am also attracted to all three of them heavily. I like the yellow jacket idea a lot. I have seen some great females from him, hopefully he wouldn't make one too big with this cow. In today's clubby deals I fear people are keeping too many females that have NO performance, so I try to keep some grow in them, it's way easier to cut one down then to bring one up and still be competitive in the ring. Dr. Who, Cerveza, and if you are not afraid to go old school try Witch Doctor. he works awesome on Meyer Daughters. We had a Maverick daughter out of a Cerveza daughter and Cervezas really are proving their worth, plus they look good doing it. Maybe try DCC Hard Drive or get a hold of Josh Kastel from Michigan, he has a few good Meyer daughters and has been breeding them right, he could give you some insight.

Here is a baldy bull that I really like out of Mossy Oak owned by Charlie Parker. His name is Shakem-Off (Mossy Oak x OCC Broadside X Blk Max) . It might be an idea to keep the baldy look if your after cows. He's a cow maker IMO.

Yellow jacket as much as I cant stand them are making cows! However I am a monster Irish whiskey fan!!! My vote would be friction, witchdoctor, Hannibal, or an Irish whiskey son due to consistency of the cows an the maternal merit they bring. I am not a fan of the newer Maine sons as a lot are going the I-80 way which needs to be used on crossed cows...

This only works on the older bulls, go to http://www.cattle.com/semen/ and type in the bulls name, then scroll towards the bottom of the page and check out the notable offspring, the 2 bulls who stand out are Who made Who and Full Flush, they have a pretty good list of AI bulls they sired as well as being the maternal sir of some pretty well known bulls. The newer bulls just do not have the data but it might help  you get an some ideas.

We have a Mossy Oak daughter that is an awesome mother she is by far one of the best mother cows we have out of that particular cow family.  Our Mossy Oak is plenty stout and has an awesome hip on her.  We have never had five minutes worth of trouble with her.  We also have a Dirty Hairy2 that is a little to terminal in her makeup and she will not be kept in the herd.  For what its worth.

Well, since the cow is a Meyer x Angus (SimAngus), I-80 is definitely a viable option. I still like Whiskey or Friction better, but I think I80 would be fine if the cow has enough junk in her trunk so to speak.
