OK guys, and gals! I am taking your advise and putting it into action. We all can just talk about it all day but then, at the end, getting it done is going to tell the true answer. Flushed JPJ to a rather moderate or maybe smaller Gizzmo daughter. Ha!!! That ought to get me the little ones? RIGHT? Next will be the Lowlines. And I hope that guy from Iowa gets with me on here. Already have a few of them (lowlines) but might not be able to show with them being out of clubby bulls and are pretty big I am guessing for them.

Sorry OH I was speaking of the previous coloured pic.  I know about Troubador. The pic you posted was of John Deifenbaker, who was Prime Minister of Canada at the time. I'm trying to think of the lady on the halter. She was General Manager for Cyrus Eaton......Betty Roydon ?????
Is that right OH?

The lady's name was Betty Royon. She was Cyrus Eaton's manager for many years... both of his businesses and farming operations. Betty Royon  never married and virtually made all the decisions on Eaton's farms in Ohio and in Nova Scotia. Betty just passed away about 1 year ago. Cyrus Eaton died many years ago.

In regards to the picture of the mini Shorthorn bull. I think I am going to be OK now, but when I first saw this picture and read some of the comments, I thought I was having a heart attack. I am old enough to remember Shorthorns that looked like this, and to be quite frank, it was cattle like this that almost drove the breed to extinction. The Shorthorn breed was placed on the endangered breeds list in Britain for several years, because of cattle like this. It was only after some British breeders started importing semen and embryos from North America, and Australia, that they have gained favor again. The Shorthorn breed is one of the fastest growing breeds in Britain today, and even the old time breeders who bred and raised cattle like this bull, never want to see them again.

I guess it is a free world, and you can raise whatever you want to. All I can say is you better have a pretty good day job if you plan on raising cattle like this. There is probably a decent market for these cattle to hobbyists, and small acreage people, but don't expect someone who raises cattle for a living to beat your door down.

Geez.... look back into history folks.... there are lessons to be learned from where we have been before.

We have 2 hiefers this year that may qualify-the rwm in the background is one-standing behind to the right of an 80 pound newby-both are by proud jazz O0

MT I really like the heifer. I don't think she looks that small at all. We have lots of frame 4 cows in our area. Our state fair champ last year was 49" how the heck you get one of those out of a frame 6 cow. The reserve state fair steer was 50". If you want to unload her, I will be first in line. ;) I think I told you we take vertically challenged cattle all the time. We have a great rehab program.
