Mixing Kleen Sheen and vinegar

I love that pink oil from wally world, but I always have to ask for a couple cases of it since they only keep a couple cans of it out. Right now I have a case in the show box, 2 cases in the storage box, and a case sitting beside the grooming chute (thumbsup)

Yeah, I would say that the Wal-Mart pink oil is just as good, if not better, than the Sullivan's brand.  Does anyone know if the "Pink" cream stuff they have would work well mixed with Kleen Sheen, or if the Pink Oil mousse would work for show day stuff?

ok, i have a question, and this seems like the thread to ask it in.
I have a shorthorn heifer i'm currently showing and during the colder months she was nothing but a ball of fluff! ;D
Buuuuutttt... now, right here at the beginning of summer shes loosing alot of it very quickly. I was wondering if you guys had any tips of keeping good hair without the privilege of coolers. (I WISH!)

it's also very humid here so i try not to way her down with any product that will be too heavy

Get up eeeaarrrrrlllllyyyyyy and get her in and rinse her.  Comb and brush her until she doesn't drip water anymore.  Then spray Kleen Sheen(we cut ours 1/2 with vinegar) on her, and brush some more.  Put her under fans ( I have my one heifer under two 24" fans now), and go out and brush her about every two hours or so. I would also rinse her again at about 4 in the afternoon and do the same thing. Then after you feed (we feed at about 7 p.m.), you might rinse her again and blow her out, and put some Pink Oil in her hair to keep from getting a bunch of dirt in it.  Make sure she gets watered enough during the day, and keep working that hair. O0

Don't forget though, that they will shed quite a bit of hair at one time, no matter what you do. Another thing to remember is that if she has the genetics, it will be relatively easy to grow her hair..if she doesn't, then you will have to work really hard, and she still might not be THAT hairy. BUT..... if you work hard and keep her cool, you'll see some nice results.

About the mane & tail..I'm not sure.  I know that people use Infusium 23 with kleen sheen and I'm told that it works really well.  I don't think that the Mane & Tail would weigh the hair down too much..we used to put some in a bucket, and fill it with some water, and dump it down the calves' backs and then brush it in.  We still do that to the young ones to soften up some hard hair sometimes.

Try mixing the conditioner with vinegar and water, and let us know what happens, I bet it won't be much different than say, Double Dip.

try using Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner. Mix 1/2 & 1/2 w/ white vinegar. Don't rinse out.
I've found that Mane & Tail causes build-up.

Kleen Sheen is a product that conditions the hair really well, and I use it on them twice every day.  The vinegar conditions the skin and helps get rid of and prevent dandruff.  I suppose you could put one on at a time, but mixing them is faster and easier.

I can tell you shaving cream works just as good as mousse on the body.  Holds really well and is cheap.

yeah but maybe with the pink oil mousse yo uwould have to use pink oil?? IDK at some point and time I REALLY need to go to wally world and sallys, to stock up on cattle supplys (thumbsup)

Our Walmart doesn't carry the pink oil in aresol cans anymore.  Is it like that elsewhere in civilization?  They had some neat olive oil spray in the same department but I decided to pass.  Red's got me hooked on the infusium and vinegar.

I have been trying the kleen sheen and vineger for a while now, just to try something different. I wouldn't call it crusty... it makes the hair look nice from a distance, but its almost like, up close, it seems kind of dry... hmmm.... for lack of a better word i guess is is kinda frail.

i'm personally a fan of mixing mane & tail conditioner with vingeger. it seems like it made my calfs hair much thicker and waaay softer than kleen sheen ever did.

For those using Infusium 23 do you get some suds (white stuff, not sure how to describe it) when you rinse?  We are rinsing at least two times and day and most of the time three times a day.  We use a mixture of Infusium, Kleen Sheen, and Vinegar based on recommendations I have read here.  I will probably date myself but I come from the days of Orvus and can remember it took about a week of rinsing to get the calves to quite shedding suds and no matter what you did you usually ended up with dandruff.  Obviously we are most likely rinsing out Infusium from the last time we worked the hair, are we using too much or is this what you experience?
