Specifically, the feds believed, the symbols violated the discouragement clause of Regulation B of the bank regulations. According to the clause, "...the use of words, symbols, models and other forms of communication ... express, imply or suggest a discriminatory preference or policy of exclusion."

i guess that means that all sharia compliant lending practices are discriminatory?

and the in god we trust thing on money?

so the feds loaned our money to a bunch of people who couldn't afford loans and are printing money like no tomorrow and they have TIME to do this????

It's the same up here, who the heck gets paid to make these regulations? The only people left without the right to freedom of expression is the majority! Of course who makes up the majority is changing rapidly.It's the same with not being able to racial profile at security check points. My 6 foot fair haired blue eyed daughter gets pulled aside to be scanned but her East Indian boy friend walks on through. If 99% of terrorists are of middle eastern origin, male and between 18 and 35 why do they search 80 year old Caucasian grannies? If you waste your resources how effective is security going to be.
Oh and do you have the Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Our company employs lots of Muslims and they always say Merry Christmas. When they celebrate Eed they often bring some of their festive treats to share at our office. (I don't think most Muslims object to us celebrating Christmas)
My newest pet peeve is the "dirty oil " from the oil sands. It's production is way cleaner than Russia's or Africa's and a lot of the middle east........... and it would actually help secure North America's energy supply but we have the likes of Green Peace and James Cameron (Avatar, Titanic etc.) running around saying the oil sands should be shut down. (He was born a Canadian too.)

It's like I tell my dad, how are these the best people we can vote for? Really? My dad is a lifelong democrat and a Free Mason. He will tell you point blank he doesn't even recognize the Democratic party anymore.He has long been a staunch suppoter for his party over the years but has gave it all up. He believes politics are a lost cause anymore. Govt has gotten way to big even for him lol. Until we start sending people who have a clue about how the real world operates we will never see any change IMO.

Okotoks, I just watched a show on the oil sands. Had my attention. I thought it was fascinating. The scale of that operation is hard for my little mind to get around. It seems to me the project is making Oh Canada O0 some pretty good scratch. Sorry, but the caribou and other critters got enough room up there to justify the deal IMO. I would rather it come from there than over seas from the Jihadists. I'm sorry, I meant " Arabians."
