I have a pair of insulated knee high rubber boots that work great as muck boot and snow boots. Im not sure of the brand but they have 1500grams of thinsulate to keep ya toasty.

Yes they'll last reasonably well.  They're warm, light, and comfortable.  I betcha he'll like them a lot.  As far as good rubber boots are concerned, they're not all that expensive really.

Muck boots are well worth the money.  Be sure that you get the right one as there are some lighter weight versions that aren't as warm.

We live in the lake effect snow region and last year was awlful. We all have them and they are well worth it.  As another poster said, make sure they are the right ones and they come in 2 heights.  We like the bit shorter one like these

They do keep feet warm with the lining they have which is made for scuba divers to wick away the moisture.  And I hate being cold.  Only drawback but I think this is with any boot, they are slick on icey conditions.  Get some of the grippers you and stretch over the bottem for ice and these boots are the bomb!

Muck boots are the best farm boot ( minus barbwire run -ins) my brother works on dairys breeding cows and walk 8 miles a day and the Muck boots are the most comfortable, so i bought a pair and ran them all summer while i was palpating cows -- awsome boot, hold up real well, they can take a beating pretty good, the tops are water proof but are prone to tears when they come in contact with barbwires, and sharp metal objects... everyone in my family wears them and wouldn't wear anyhting else

Well worth the price IMO  8)

Muck Boots are easily worth the money! My dad who is so cheap he makes me look like Trump, bought a pair a year ago during calving season and said he should have done it years ago. I love mine.(just stay out of Barbwire) <cowboy>

Do you have a link to what you are looking at.  I am interested in seeing what they are, always in need of a pair of good all weather boots.

I have been wanting a better pair of all weather boots.  Those cheap rubber boots just don't get it done.  Just ordered a pair of muckboots from the link in this post.  Free shipping, too.  Thanks for the helpful information.
