He is a purebred Black Simmental calf out of SS Ms Sidney P64 a, SAC MR MT 73G x SS Sidney F8 daughter. Sired by CLCC Big Ben W03 a Star Power x DMN Daisy Mae son. This is her first bull calf, her heifers have all grown out well and I either kept them as my own replacements or sold them for breeding stock and I've had no complaints or problems with them so far. Therefore I've got high hopes for this son, he's almost a photo copy of his sire. Thought I would just share, even though the pics aren't good.

Isn't this the bull you were selling in the classified? The calf does look like his sire! Cute...

It is the bull I was selling and I have sold him. He is now back in Tennessee once again. The plan was just to use him on a few heifers and select cows, then resale him and make a profit in which I did. The problem I had was after I sold him, my champion old Powerstroke son came down with bad back feet and were to soft to hold his 2200 lb. frame anymore to breed much and I was forced to let him go. Therefore this spring I needed a 2nd bull to go with my Dream On son and price for bulls sky rocketed, but I finally forked up the $$ and bought a Triple C Invasion x Miss Wisconsin son. I just kind of wished I had kept the Star Power son, it just would've been cheaper and because his calves are impressing me more than I thought they would. I just now have to keep the Invasion son at work and yet him pay for himself, in which he will. He might just see more of the girls than the Dream On son, lol.

But yeah I'm really expecting this calf to make his dad proud. I think he will be a little larger than his sire. About the only difference is the white tip on the tail.

Those Triple C Invasion calves are nice. We are expecting a Triple C Invasion x Blackfoot G cow embryo (and a bull calf we just found out!) in February next year. Wish it was a heifer, but at least we got the embryo to stick! Got three more in the tank to try again next year... good luck with your new bull!

Our embryo was born this morning, 74 pounds and full of bone! Cute little head, and not a bad looking calf. Of course, a bull as the vet called it, but he is wide! I will get some pics up later when mom lets me get in there (she is not bad, just gives you the ugly eye if you get too close to him), his dam is a Blackfoot cow that Trauernicht Simmentals in Nebraska use as a donor. Some old school genetics, but they look pretty good! Just wish the vet was wrong and it was a heifer  (thumbsup)

Our calving season has begun; 1 down and 6 more to go!!!

Sounds like a nice calf firesweepranch, I'll wish you luck on the 6 to go. Here's a bad pic of my bull calf. He's ready to start weaning, he really thinks he can push our 5 year old Dream On son around, lol. Got to get him to the weaning pen before he hurts himself.
