I got my catalog on the adverstised sale I was talking about. They are selling 6 Myyty focus sons. 2 DJ Analyst sons and 10 retail product sons. Retail product is a 1680 son but I don't know his condition. So you have at least 8 bulls going out into the commercial gene pool. If you figure half are carriers then you do have that. Maybe those evil Shorthorn people aren't so evil after all. Maybe contaminating the black hided cattle will be good for the red hided people in the long run. It could take what maybe 10 years to get some kind of acknowledgement from Angus people on the deal. Parent verification, feet dragging, threats on the AAA by breeders. This stuff is fascinating to watch for me.

AJ if you want to know a registered  Angus' AM status just go to http://www.angus.org/registeredangus/ put in the animals registration number and you will get the pedigree. There you will find it's status as well as ancestors (AMC or AMF after the registration number. If the particular animal's status is not listed then call the owner or don't buy it.

The only way to stamp these genetic defects out is by disclosure or financial pain when not.

On the Angus dwarfism side(maybe this is old news) but the Beaufort of wye bull(6026105) is found in the following listed carriers for dwarfism.13649271,13649255,13437917,13502707,11912675,13862855,13630253,12838783, and 9034218. Also paramount Ambush comes up in pedigrees along with Schearbrook Shosone but are not listed carriers. You can get from Mytty in focus to beaufort of wye. Am I on the wrong track? Is this coencidence? Surely someone knows Angus pedigrees. Any one any thoughts? I assume there is no dna type test for dwarfism. Anyone else find any patterns?

AJ, didnt know if you noticed this as well or not... but with the exception of 9034218, all these cattle go back to 10820099  (Leachman Blackcap B601). Coincidence, perhaps, but just thought i would throw that out there... As for Beaufort of Wye, just tracing back bulls that WE have used that have made their impact in the breed... New Design 878 AS WELL AS New Design 9150 trace back to Beaufort as well... But to my knowledge, i have not heard any reports of dwarfism out of them ???
As for my thoughts on In Focus' dwarfism status, we bred 50 New Design females to him last year with nothing but solid NORMAL calves out of him.  Had same results from everybody else around here that bred to him.  All in all, love the bull :)

Thanks..I just did a quick deal deal last night and Beaufort of wye stood out first. Dr. j Analyst has an interesting pedigree. If they hydro deal and curly calf is similar the calves could be mistaken  or confused witheach other. Thanks again.

Frisbie, try and get a hold of Randy..I can't get him on his cell. I don't have your e-mail. Tell Randy that the eagle has landed and have him give you a e-mail to send me or call. If the wolves or whiskey hasn't got him.
