There is one thought that they came over no earlier than 25,000 through the bearing straight area. They were possibly kinda trapped there till 15,ooo years ago when they came south through Canada into the U.S.. I beleive the clovis people are thought to be around 11,500 years ago. There is a site just down the road where a dalton point was found in a bison kill spot dated around 7,000 years ago. This is fascinating stuff. Kinniweck man is a skeleton found believed to look like a Caucasin found in Washington state. I think he was dated 10,000 years ago. There was a stone spearhead found imbedded in his pelvis I believe. There may have been multiple crossings of multiple people. I think some mamouth bones that have been found dated 18,000 years ago that may show butcher marks on bones but this haven't been proven yet. :)

I am currently reading "The great journey-the peopling of ancient america." by Brian M. an. He does a great job of explaining theories and excavations. I believe in god and I alsways thought it would be cool, if it ended up that the garden of eden was in Kansas say on mount sunflower or something. Current wisdom says man originated in africa and the traversed to north america though.

I read an article once that claimed Mustangs with the Paint/Pinto color pattern and the Nez Perce Indians Appaloosa horses "speckling" color pattern had been genetically linked to Icelandic horses and that they were actually decendants of horses brought here by Icelandic discoverers many years prior to Columbus, Cortez, or any of those folks.  I don't know if it reallly has ever been proven but it would sure put an interesting twist on the "historical facts" we were taught in school, wouldn't it?

Like the "Sipapu" belief?  Navajos and Hopis believe their people emerged from sipapu's ....  secret passages that brought them from the dark underworld, up to a wonderful world of light.  I am no trained theologian, but if you open your mind, native american creation beliefs are not that far from Christianity's.

there is no such thing as a native american.  america wasn't even named yet.  various people have been killing each other since cain and abel.

i have always wondered why caucasians, and asian people left africa, or if they mutated after they either left or were kicked out.  if they were kicked out, why can't they return to africa without discrimination?

What is interesting, Neanderthals were better adapted during the Ice Ages then Homo Sapiens, but their evolutionary path seemed to have come to a dead end. Agility was probaby the main difference between the species. Modern Humans were more agile in their design and were better hunters for the more open prairies after the last Ice Age then the Neanderthals.

Knabe, if theres no such thing as "Native Americans" then who owns all the tax free casinos? ???

humans don't seem to be native to the america's.  perhaps when the earth was in early stages of pangea, and when the oceans were at least 300 feet lower, sea travel was a little easier, especially from africa to south america.  there are too many buried remnants of civilizations under the ocean especially in india for us to not be more curious about it.  i tend to believe man was a little more well traveled than we give him credit for back in the day.

america owns the tax free casino's as they can end this redistribution of gambling/dependence mentality anytime they want.  to me, this is simply discrimination.  american's don't have the same priveleges, especially when it comes to environmental laws, something the benevolent people don't have to be held account to.  what a joke.

Telos...the other point the show made was ..........the cromag people probably out distanced the neanderthal because they developed language and communication, because their species were smarter? Words mean things.....wealth is fragile.....knowledge is king. It isn't the biggest and roughest and toughest that always survive. Unless....There is no doubt in my mind that another ice age is coming unless the creator pulls the plug first. I know the last glaciers extended to the middle of Nebraska roughly 18,000 years ago. It will happen again. Most peoples grasp of history starts when they are born and ends when they die. There is a real good chance willie nelson and I will be dead when the next Ice age does hit....but It is cool to ponder. ;D

There is research of the mitochondrial DNA or other genetic differences of Humans and Neanderthals. Maybe Knabe can find some of these studies and tell us in LAYMAN terms what they have concluded.
