So this year we have had the best year we have had in 4 years. At this point we need some more fat cover in my opinion we are way far away from not being covered but he just needs that smoother finish. Our county show is in 36 days. right now he is eating approx. 36 lbs of feed a day split in 2 feedings, golden flo and dark and rich about 1/4 a lb a day, I have tried on the dark and rich to move him up on it but he just simply will not eat it, he will totally go off feed if increase. we are 1200 lbs at this time.
the other thing is I have yet to figure out the secret to the soggy body, meaning deeping the flank and a fuller look. what exactly do you do to a steer to achieve this?
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
