Listen guys, there is no point in being negative or rude on here. Everyone has their own way of doing things, different opinions, and livestock backgrounds. That's what makes steerplanet great! Not everyone on here has a lot of cattle experience, and some people are just starting out or are trying to learn. It's ok to disagree with something someone says, but share your point of view instead of bashing someone and putting them down. Or if someone shares some information that may not be completely correct, share your information about the subject with them instead of calling them stupid and degrading them. And just because we may not agree with something someone says, does that give us the right to be curt, and belittle them?  This is a great site where we can all learn different things from each other.  We are all lovers of cattle of different styles, breeds, and colors!!

It wasn't directed at any one person. I was just trying to make a statement.  You're right, it probably wasn't worth my time. But you don't have to be a jerk

Treat someones opinion just like a judge at a show , we dont always agree but he had the right to assert his opinion ....There's another day ,another show and sometimes you learn something ....Thanks for reminding us to try to be courteous .....

carleye, i really think you are on to something here.  this board can be an excellent resource for people of all ages and all levels of experience, and sometimes WE need to be reminded of that.  there are many times that people will post questions or start discussions and the first response is a negative one (negative as in personally insulting the orginial poster such as "you have no clue what your talking about" etc...)  these type of responses might actually deter the 200-300+ visitors that are viewing the website at any given time from actually becoming a member and participating.  why would anyone want start a topic when they know they are immediately going to be ridiculed, insulted, or degraded!  just because you have "experience", doesnt give you the right to knock someone for not knowing something and trying to educate themselves or knock someone who is trying to look for solutions.  there really is no such thing as a stupid question.  and there is absolutely nothing wrong with disagreeing!  and nothing wrong with voicing your opinion on a matter.  the problem arises when members start insulting posters for disagreeing with them or for ridiculing posters for not having knowledge about a topic, or degrading posters for not having experience in the area they are looking for guidance in.  how is that being helpful???
just something for us to think about...
