First of all, what the h is a simile? (lol)
Second of all, I know there have been several people in my area that think that there is no need for any other breed besides angus. There were more people that thought that very same thing even five years ago than there are today but many have gotten their commercial cowherds even more pure angus since then and have witnessed the negative side-effects of a purebred angus commercial cowherd. Namely, lighter weaning weights, decreased vigor and will to survive at birth, increased rate of calf beater heifers(I have never seen a heifer beat her calf that was not at least a high percentage angus). I also think it is a pile of crap to tell a commercial cowman that he is going to sacrifice carcass quality by breeding his angus based cows to a non-angus bull- it's simply not true. In terms of docility, consistent growth performance, yield, cow longevity and overall profitability, I think it is really tough to beat top-end crossbred cattle consisting of a variety of different breed compositions(I am not here to blow the horn of any particular non-angus breed as there are MANY out there that have traits to offer the commercial angus sired female). <cowboy>
