New Calf ??

We have our first baby,  I have a stupid question how old are they when they usually start trying hay?  When do you start grain (I believe that is around a month)

We have free choice hay available and creep when calves start hitting the ground. Every year has been little different. This year calves were month old and just got into creep. They would nibble on hay along side mothers off and on not long after they were born. All most all of ours are on the creep feeder now and seem to be diving in. March and April calves.
