A few months or so ago, I asked some questions about some Angus and Red Angus bulls... etc...  Here are the heifers that caused those questions.  They are just plain jane commercial heifers, but I had my pick of about 25...  They were chosen to be eventual recips- but in the time being could potentially make a competitive calf or two when mated right!  I would also like to see what you would think breds like these, would be worth?  They are all bred to a Final Answer/ Future Direction herd bull...  I can't wait to get those calves out, and get something better in them!

First- Lutton x BR Midland x Conneally Dateline- from the Lady Blackbird family- great prospect IMO
Red- Major League x Lucky Dice (SM) (3/4 RA)
3rd- Lancer x Precision E161 son - by far the worst heifer in the group
4th- Five Star x Grand Design- Really a better heifer than the pic eludes too!

Just thought you'd all like to see some progeny out of some bulls that weren't clubby!  and not talked about a great deal!

Honestly, she's probably the only one who won't become a recip in the not so far future!!!

But then again, I bet every member of this board would have bought them for what I paid for them..

$.60/ lb  not too shabby for 3-4 month preg coming 2y.o. breds!!!

I really like the red one the best. There is something about her make up that I like. She may not jump out at you but it will be interesting to see how they produce. Even if they are eventually recips they need to have good maternal abillities.

Prob the fact that you have shorthorns, and she's RED! (clapping)

The Red one is the "cow" of the group...  She's also got the most substance and bone!  I'm considering trying her out on our new Shorthorn bull next year, for a Durham Red type thing, since she's a 3/4 RA...  This possibility is what helped her come home with me...  I'm a sucker for any kind of Red ones that can make a Shorthorn calf!

It will likely be 2 years before I can do some flushing anyways...  So these heifers will be time tested before getting egged...  I doubt if I'll have the money next year to flush anyone...  Poor college kid!!
