here are the latest pictures of my steer, Tank.  He is just the most gentle animal i have worked with.  i've been working with him for 1 1/2 months and already i can do just about anything to him. check him out.

no implants or anything else except grain corn and forage.  just a lot of elbow grease and a brush.  r u serious that he doesnt look any better in these photos than the others?

He looks best in the third pic, but you should try taking your photo from the other side so that you can stand behind and slightly to the front of your steer.  Look at some of the ads for show cattle to give you an idea how they should be posed and pictured.  Also, use a show stick to help set him up and take a rear shot as well.  This steer will no doubt be a good project for you.  Get out to some local shows when they get going so that you can find out where you and the steer are in comparison to the local competition and learn the ropes before your terminal show.

You are doing a great job getting him calm and gentle. Keep working with him and as stated, get out to some shows. Keep a learning attitude while at the shows so you can improve your showmanship and learn traits that are good about him and traits that you might want to improve on with next year's calf. If you haven't done so, you should worm him. This will help him take off and grow.Thats one of the first things we do with new calves just in off their mothers.  Keep feeding him and get advise from others on which rations work best. Keep working with him, and good luck ;D

we just did herd health on wednesday and he was wormed and got his shots.  im feeding him and getting him plenty of grain whenever he works and making sure he gets planety when all the calves are fed together.
