we need to sell him because i don't want to show a fat steer next year and he can really tear it up like i said, he already won his class at our fair and was the 3rd overall feeder at our fair out of about 30. the 4th overall calf from the OSF was at our fair too. you have something to say, send me a message instead of posting it here, thats rude, inconsiderate, maybe your jealous idk. seems like i catch a lot of flack on here. idk why but thats not what SP is about. you don't like the price tag, i don't care.

We very rarely will show one that we are really wanting to sell simply because people get stuck on placing, if you don't get him sold, hide him out and bring him back out, we've never had a problem selling one we were winning with.  Nice steer, good luck with him!

Guess what doublestuff, just cuz a calf doesnt win his class at ONE show doesnt mean its not worth the money. Heck I was at Purdue AGR and saw a 35k place third in her class. And imo she was one of the best calves there just got in the wrong class. If you get in with some 10 or 15k steers its hard to beat those with a 5k calf, I dont care who you are. Oh sure it happens sometimes, but its rare. I would've kept that one to myself doublestuff, if you dont like the price keep it to yourself. jmo

i'd agree with chriso. a friend of mine and lukes showed at a show and got 2nd in class to an awesome blue roan steer, next show we went to almost all of the same calves were in the class and he got buried in the back and that blue steer won again. what if the 5 best calves at a show are in the same class. only 2 calves come from each class so that knocks out 3 of the best 5 calves for top 5. its all hypothetical and like i said, he already has 1 win under his belt. he is still for sale.

Hey dude, I hope you get 10k for him. More power to you. I just wondered what the price would have been if he'd of won the class. 5k is not alot of money these days for a steer, infact I would say in most cases all that will get you is a middle of the road type calf. At least down here in Texas. So stop being so sensitive. I actually like the calf. I too have seen high dollar calves beaten by average to below average priced cattle. Infact I think it probably happens more often than we think. He s worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for him. I apologize publicly if my attempt at humor was offensive to you.

doublestuff, you cant really expect people not to be sensitive when saying you would hate to see the price if the calf would've won. jmo though. Good luck Zach with getting him sold, I think he'll make somebody  one heck of a showsteer!!!

Hey Zach--I missed seeing the new photos of your steer, but it seems everyone agreed he is a good calf...maybe you should put the pics back up with your post.  As far as price--he's your steer, price him as YOU want and don't worry about other people's comments--I'm guessing none of those commenting have seen him in person.  As with anything else being sold, calves are essentially worth what somone will pay for them...

Nice steer Zach. We price calves too high also sometimes because we know that we'll have to pay that or more to find one as good or better. Everyone is always asking PPL for a price on here then when Zach puts a price up, PPL want to bash him. Stick to your original thoughts Zach, you're the one that knows the calf the best and you're the one paying the bills. JMO. Put the pics back up Zach, the calf is better than most. Brent

this calf was 3rd in class out of 12 this past Tuesday behind the open show Reserve Champion/Junior show Grand Champion.

Don't worry about what others think. Because he is your steer and you can price him as much as you think he is worth. Hope you get what you want out of him because he is one really nice steer. Everyone keep your negative comments to your self.  (cow)  ;D
