My name is Scott Reich, from Cenral Michigan. I am new to SteerPlant, still learning the site. I have been a herdsman for years, since old enough to work. I trained to be a bovine hoof trimmer in 2006, under a apprenticeship with Dave Keebler of Great Lakes Hoof Trimming of 30 plus years. I was his first and only apprentice. I was taught by a show cow judge in Jackson what judges look for, I take pride in how well I have mastered show cows. I would like to get my kids into showing cows someday when we have property to have a cow or two. ;D I was working a lot with small dairies around central MI and a 1500 head farm in Northern Ohio which folded in the towel within the past two years due to the economy and the "work vs. profit" radio. I still have a few reguarlars but feel like I am starting over with my business. Is anyone else experiencing this type of affect? or anyone else thought about selling off and walking away? I love what I do, and am eagar to do it more, plain and simple.
