Have an older (9) cow who seems to be night blind, gets around fine during the day but at night she uses her nose to get around. I turned them out on the new grass in the pasture, with just a portion of the hot wire pulled back, so I can close it off if it rains or to irrigate if it does not, she cant find the opening once it gets low light, it is white ribbon wire easy enough for the other cows to see. I had to go help her through it the other evening, once through it she went to the corrals and found the panels and followed it with her nose until she found the gate into the feed area, what was really strange is one of the other cows seemed to come out to the opening to help her in. Like I said during the day she gets around perfectly fine. Any one else ever see this?
