Probably because only a limited quantity has been released.

Can someone explain to me why limiting semen on a bull that has never sired a calf makes that semen valuable?  People in this industry respond to senseless hype better than any other industry or business in the world.

When you send $50,000 for 1/2 interest in an unproven bull you will do what you can to increase demand and cash flow.  I would rather use Upgrades sire Olie.  He is proven and only $18 per straw.
