My Son participated in his first show last weekend.  I think it is a great way to get the whole family involved.

Here he is all 31 pounds of him showing a 1275 pound steer.

Let's see your novice showman photos....  ;D

You might want to tell him not to pull so much on the halter. He might just pull the steer over on himself! ;) ;) ;D

That is such a great picture...what a future there...
Here is my 7 year old showing his first year.  In his first showmanship class, the judge asked him why he placed the back feet split on the profile stance. He said "cause my mom said so!!"  The audience just busted up. They are so fun to watch.

Here's my 9 year old daughter at her first county fair.  She did a good job showing.  I know I'm biased, but I have no clue how the judge picked anything wrong that she did during showmanship.  Her heifer cooperated nicely for her in the ring.  The steer was another story.  He chewed on her shirtsleeve the whole time.  I have a picture somewhere of her laughing while he's doing it, but I can't find it.

The steer about 2 months ago took him thru a mud puddle.... it was really hot and he wanted to cool off... so he took Adam with him he came out black as the steer....  Boy was he mad.... so his sister just hosed him down at the wash rack.

The steer is really easy going.... Adam sits on him.

We are in Florida.
