Is anyone planning on showing in Harrison in March and if so do you have any information about it?  I have looked online and can't locate anything posted for entry deadlines, contact numbers, etc.  If anyone has a phone number I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey, I live in Harrison and nothing will probably be posted on the internet about it. The local Cattlemens association usually put it on with the help of a 4H group. The last I heard they are still getting the paperwork and information together for dates. They have not had their Jan. meeting yet, after they hold the meeting most information will be available. I will try to find out some numbers to who you need to contact and entry information!

That would be awesome!  It will be our first year at this show and my daughters second showing simmental.  Some friends of ours showed there last year and did pretty well in the Simmie show.  In fact, they are the ones that turned us on to the show.  Do they usually have pretty good numbers in the simmie show?

The numbers each year in breeds vary, depending on who has bought what. Many people buy different breeds different years so the number in each breed change each year. The numvers are usually  good tho.

I see.  I have heard some good things about that show in general, but everyone seems to be high on the steer show.  Any idea if they show Friday night and what time showing starts Sat?  Oh, and do they have electric hookup for a living quarters trailer or do people from out of town mostly stay at the hotel?  Apologize for the barrage of questions.  Just trying to get an idea and stay on top of the ball!

They don't show on Friday unless they do a showmanship for the parents..etc. The show usually starts around 10. The steer show is a big thing at the Hillbilly, steers come from the surrounding states to compete in it. There is a lot of steers there. I'm pretty sure that there are hookups, some people stay there and some get hotels. There are around 6 hotels in Harrison and they are usually reasonably priced. The Hillbilly is def. one of the biggest shows in Arkansas. Pumping is allowed. Any more ?? just ask and I'll try to answer them. I have shown at this show for 3 yrs. One thing I noticed is after the steer show on Sat.(shown by breeds), some of the steers will be in a different breed on Sun. show. The heifers can be the same way if they are reg. with more than one association, or are comm.
