I try and not get political but man........Obama couldn't manage a lemonade stand. He gives speeches that sound like Castro speeches from Cuba. You have a guy whose father was a socialist and his mother was way left of center. He's never had a job other than a community organizer(socialist). I guess I can't believe that nobody in the the "mainstream media is calling his attack on mitty". Mitty has managed and created thousands of jobs and Obama hasn't created one job......and he is attacking Rommey for not not being a socialist. I figured Obama would try and hide the fact that he is a socialist. But he must think that the USA after 200 years of success is ready to become a european socialist type country. It scares the hell outa me. |I guess that I will stand behind tjhe comment that I pray to god the Woodstock generation dies off in a hurry......cause they are back.

obama isn't the problem.

http://politix.topix.com/homepage/1332-30-dont-agree-with-declaration-of-independence

the survey is probably questionable and it doesn't list the actual question.

interesting more people today believe in it than when obama first took office.

you would think the population almost at this point wants independence from the federal government.

probably only 30% wanted independence in the first place over 200 years ago.

our local governments care more about banning plastic bags than they do retirement packages for themselves.

again, it all boils down to abortion.  if the republicans would address the problem with adoption and not doing it themselves and not worry about prosecuting, they would win.  the problem is they view this as compromising their morals.  what they don't see, that as soon as the criminalize abortion, they will lose.  ask any liberal why they don't vote republican and invariably the first thing out of there mouth is womens rights and abortion (at least in my neck of the woods).

I think this countries downfall  started in the 70's. We went from a nation of producers and started the transition to a nation of consumers. This cat in the white house is just speeding up the ship as we head toward the iceberg. I'm not sure why anybody still agrees with obama. I'm voting for Gary Johnson. Search him on YouTube.

Your exactly right - if the Republican party would ditch the religious right, they would win in a landslide from here on out! They cut off their nose to spite their face.

I geuss I shouldn't be suprised that Obama would say something like this , but he sure did. To me this is a slap in the face to a lot of people.

"Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive," Obama said Friday, citing the teachers and people who build "roads and bridges." He continued: "If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Refute that with facts.  Here I'll do it for you. That used to be the case till a few decades ago but now it is only true for Latino Catholics though probably around 65-70%.  Catholics in general still lean democrat.

Most people don't have a problem taking someone else's money so it really has nothing to do with Catholics.

That would be me. And he absolutely was.  Perhaps you need to reread the gospels to refresh your memory.

Maybe its different here, but all the Catholics I know are staunch republicans if for nothing more than their position on abortion.

Is that blind faith talking there XBAR?  ;D

I think the problem most people have with the Socialist idea is not giving to those that need, but taking from those that work and giving to those who don't ( because they don't want to).  I'm all for giving to those in need, young, old, disabled, but there should be a genuine need.  How many people in this country get welfare, food stamps, money for utilities, housing, medical, etc. (when they are perfectly capable of working, they just choose not too)?  Yet a lot of these same people have cable, multiple cell phones, internet, etc..  Not all are like this just seems like a lot.  JMO

I think you make a good point about republicans, christians, abortion ( most candidates are less than ideal so why not vote for the ones that have a value for innocent life).
