Sounds like a disappointed Ohio fan. Let's see.  Who did tech lose to.  Oh yeah the same team Florida did.  Let's see how bad did bama get beat by Utah.  And they played Florida descent.  And what is the big ten bowl record

starting to look like the nfl and any team on any day. great game and i think that saved osu's rep. they manhandled texas but couldn't capitalize and texas did. props to colt mccoy for the poise on the last drive.

I don't think they were thrilled about being in that game but decided they better be on the last drive

Being an OSU student, I can tell you I was not able to hear the commentating throughout the lasdt part of the game through the crowds of onlookers. WOW!!!
Although, us college BUCKEYES  love to celebrate a victory, we can also make a loss a little less painfull  ;)
Congrats to the Texans!!!

Red

Red remember (if) is pretty much the biggest word in the world.

Being I am not a Longhorn fan I'll cut you some slack you don't have to put that on you avatar.

actually I find their mascot to be rather funny. Read that they had used a longhorn named Bevo also. Supposed to have been named after a local beer.
I'm a good sport & try to follow up w/ what I said I'd do. But after a week it comes right back down!

Come on Red, I'm very disappointed in you now. ;)

The official legend is he was branded 13-0 by a group of Aggies and they modified the "13" to B, "-" to E, inserted a V, and left to "0" and O.

Sounds like you are wrong... I detest the Buckeyes & all things Big 10.  I'm from SOUTH of the Ohio River.   ;)

Tech lost to Ole Miss, but they didn't just lose like Florida did, they got throttled.  Florida was beating Ole Miss, relaxed & Ole Miss came from behind.  And Florida was a completely different team after the Ole Miss defeat.  What Ole Miss did to Texas Tech was MUCH, MUCH worse than what they did to Florida which was barely pulling out a 1 point win.

Utah is a great team & they were sick of hearing how they didn't have a chance.  OTOH, Bama came in waaay too cocky & they were also without the best O-lineman in the USA.  Take away the best player off of any team & see how they do!  When it's a left tackle who had ONLY given up 1 sack all year (Kentucky's Johnny Williams) while playing against SEC defenses, that is a huge loss.  Plus, they were no longer playing for a national championship & therefore weren't very fired up for the bowl... after all, who gets excited about playing Utah?   But, again, Utah is a great team that is undefeated (the Buckeyes got beat 3 times this year... big difference!!), but don't kid yourself, Bama mailed that game in & they didn't begin to wake up until it was 21 - 0.

You are correct, Bama played Florida decent because that was for the SEC Championship & a chance at the National Championship.  Playing Utah in a BCS Bowl doesn't even come close to playing Florida in the SEC Title game.  Plus, Florida was without Percy Harvin.

I don't care what the Big 10's bowl record is... it's not good.  But, you should be more concerned about the two, 1 loss, Big 12 teams that looked less than impressive against a 4 loss Ole Miss team (yes, 4 losses!) & a 3 loss Buckeye team.

Oklahoma is about to get mauled... Gator Bait!   ;)

Red, you being a Buckeye fan, are the only thing that I like about Ohio State.   ;)

BTW, if that longhorn in your avatar had played Florida last night, it would be running around as a steer right now... and it would have little scurs, instead of horns... and it would probably have the words "gator bait" branded across it's side!      (lol)   (clapping)

Oklahoma just doesn't have a clue what they are about to get into & them talking smack about Tim Tebow is only going to make it worse.   ;)

oh, this was just too good to pass up!

The steer's embarrassed student handlers, in turn, soon came up with a clever way to save face for their school, though it was a little hard on their mascot. The UT partisans converted the 13 into a B, the hyphen into an e and inserted a V in front of the zero. That spelled Bevo, the brand name of a popular near beer.

But that was all history three years later when UT students and supporters gathered to honor their twice-branded mascot, now well known as Bevo.

After that, the celebrants were treated to rope tricks, a wild Indian act and music. Where was Bevo while all the speechifying in his honor went on? Well, to paraphrase the modern beef industry, Bevo...he's what's for dinner.

The headline in the next day's Austin newspaper pretty well summed it up: "Famous Longhorn Steer Is Eaten By Varsity Students: Bevo of Fond, But Sometimes Unpleasant, Memories, Served At Barbeque."

The newspaper story went on to say that the demise of the steer (why Bevo was available to barbecue was not explained) marked the end of a tradition, which just goes to show the importance of not believing everything you read in the newspapers.

Bevo I's descendant, Bevo XIII currently reigns as one of college football's most notable mascots. But so far as is known, the gathering that winter evening in 1920 marked the only time Bevo ended up in a barbecue pit.

The last few years OSU reminds me so much of Nebraska of the 80's, cant win the big game or bowl game, but hey cheer up OSU fans the 90's were pretty special to NU fans maybe you will be able to experiance that again.

I was actually pretty impressed by OSU last night.  There d line gave texas fits.  Also Pryor is going to be a stud, you will most likely have a shot at a national title if he develops a strong passing game.  Reminds me of a young Vince Young and he just glides around the field.

It was a good game. I think if Texas would have keep up the hurry-up offense it could have gotten ugly. (My opinion only) I think the games would be better if they didn't wait a month to play them.
They should start the season to wear it just rolls right in too the bowl games.

Out of 119 D1-A College football teams Oklahoma played the following ranked defenses... #78 Texas Tech, #85 Baylor, #89 Kansas, #93 Oklahoma State, #98 Missouri, #110 Washington, #114 Texas A&M, #117 Kansas State and lowly Chattanooga who is not a D1-A team.  Even Texas & Nebraska would have been ranked 2nd to last in the SEC in defense this year.  That's 11 teams that wouldn't even finish in the top 10 in the SEC for defense (and they weren't even playing SEC teams either!)!!  Talk about a cupcake schedule!!

It's too late now, but the National Championship game should have been Florida verses either Utah or Southern Cal, IMHO.  Those are the 3 best teams in college football, IMHO.  Texas, Texas Tech & Penn State all proved that they were "pretenders".  Bama had a real good team, but they weren't explosive enough.

If Florida doesn't throttle Oklahoma, I'll be the 1st to admit that I was wrong.  But, this game is gonna get rather ugly for Oklahoma, I'm afraid!  Florida just might eat Bradford & not spit him out... it just might get that ugly.  ;)
