I watched it from a far and was in the area. The heifer average had to be high. For the most part I did not hear anything go below 2700. I expected the prices to be down with the economy. Nope. Cattle looked good. Same for the shorties.

I watched the last dozen or so sell on the internet and they were begging to get the $700 minimum bid on nearly every one.  The quality must have been pretty bad at the end.

prices went down as the sale went on. They struggled for a few. Not sure if all sold. I think the overall average went real well.
Just watched on internet & didn't get any prices. I know the two bulls we were interested in went high & we didn't get them.

Heifers were soft in all breeds Alot of real nice angus heifers for 1500 and down, the maine heifers were floored at 700, they passed a few out toward the end.  Only the real powerhouse show heifers brought good money

I think people are waiting to see if they will have feed next year.

bulls held up real well across the board, I think a lot of bulls were shipped last fall to save feed

I was only there for the beginning.
Some of the prices were better than we were getting in December for 600# feeder calves. So, I guess, I wouldn't complain. 900# heifer for $700 is 78 cents a lb.At market, I took a  hit and got 48 to 57 cents on 675# heifers. JMO
There was alot of quality in the sale as an average.

the last threw did sell low, but not because of poor quality, more off the money had already been spent, and only a handful of bidders remained compared to the beginning when it was packed like sardines
