I saw an tv advertisement this morning for a mans razor. It didn't have 3 blades. It didn't have 15 blades. It had ONE blade. I think there is room for a great merchandising theme here. Simplicity. Easy to clean. No over kill cheap to buy. Cheap to maintain. Simple simple simple. Sometimes I think there is room for a similar merchandising theme in cattle.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a breed......that was simple. A breed where you didn't have to test for DS. A breed where you didn't have to test for pha or th. A breed that didn't require calving barn cameras. A breed that didn't need to be dehorned. A breed where you didn't need to use a special bull on first calf heifers. A breed where you didn't have to breed around stuff like fawn calf and marble bone and monkey mouth and rat tails and rat finks. Just some food for thought.

If John Deere decided to make........say the standard 4440 tractor again. What would it cost to reproduce it todays costs. Could a new tractor buy the patent and reproduce it. Something simple. Maybe it would still cost a quarter million to reproduce it.....I don't know. Pull type combine for small producers?
