I was pretty disappointed with our second crop of hay this year--we've had a real dry spell and the small field in front of our house wasn't worth cutting this time.  I finally decided to turn the cows out on it so I put electric fence around it today and turned them out this evening.  I was kind of feeling sorry for myself becuase of the poor hay crop, etc., etc. and I guess the good Lord decided to show me I didn't have it quite as bad as I thought.  He gave us an evening with that special kind of light that (I'm not sure will show through on these pics) feels soft and heavy all at once.  Bottomline is I snapped  few pictures of the cows in the fresh grass and I hope you enjoy them, too!

Very nice pictures!  Not big into the Horns but would like to stop in sometime to check out your cattle!

Hey Tony,

Stop in even if you're not into horns!!    We have some blue roan calves--a Who Made Who heifer, a Money Man steer, and a  Sull KC Chiefs Pride steer.    Heck, 9 out of our first 10 calves next year will be out of black bulls---Myrtle Bo is bred for a natural calf out of K&A Kasanova, the  Sonny cow pictured is bred to Hannibal, and we have others we're expecting out of DCC Premium Blend, Who Made Who, Hard Core, 3 out of Money Man, and another out of Hannibal.

Then once we take care of your blind spot and get you loving the red, white, & roan variety, we can show you our current Shorthorn calves and talk about the pairings we have for 2010-- a JPJ calf out of our Vortec/Myrtle Bo show heifer, one TM Gus and three Vortec X Myrtle Bo embryos, and two TM Gus calves(the roan Vortec cow pictured is bred to him).

Just remember--you may not love 'em when you come, but if the Iowegian is doing his job, you'll dang sure love 'em before you leave!!

Don't worry, we'll still make you feel welcome even if we can't fix your blind spot!!

Stop anytime!!
