Hello everyone,

I have some bull calves that I might be taking to some local sales.  I was wondering if you could provide me with some feedback to tell me what you think of one of the bulls.  I will apologize early about the pictures because they aren't the best, and the calf is not clipped and fitted to the hilt.  Any info would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

these two pictures demonstrate clearly how perspective changes the size of one's head and also clearly how head angle can distort cover when the head is tilted one way.

i personally enjoy the second angle more and more than the first angle, but would obviously move his head.

Perty nice calves. I like the bottom one a little better, but according to knabe, he took a better picture.

They are nice calves. Since I will assume they are shorthorn your main problem is color. Not sure they are good enough to work in purebred herds so finding a commercial guy who wants a white bull is tricky. Not saying they aren't out there but are few and far between. If they were solid red I think you would have commercial guys lining up to buy them. How are they bred? Like I said they are nice calves but what to do with white bull calves is a problem that most shorty breeders face at some point.

Thanks for the input on the calf.  He is a little different type than most in the breed.  Moderate framed, thick, with a lot of capacity.  On the downside he is not the "showiest" package but should make a good beef bull.  Yes, unfortunatelly his color will be a limiting factor.  If he were solid red instead of white, how much would that change his worth?  Thanks

I don't know what the money difference would be but I would think you would double the interest in him if he was red or roan. To sell a white bull to a purebred guy they have to be really good to make up for the color issues that will come along (think TM GUS). There are some commercial guys who ask for white bulls but it is a nich market. If he was red or roan it think he would get some interest from breeders and almost all commercial guys looking for a bull.
