I posted some pictures of this steer a few months back but i wanted some fresh opinions since he has matured a lot.  He is a market steer for an end of July county fair.  But if u think i could do well at some other shows or like state fairs sugestions are good.  here is his info.
-Name: Tank
-Weight as of Dec. 18: 773
-Born: March 25
-Age: 10 Months
-Breed: Shorthorn/Simmental

What do you think?  ill try to get some pictures of him from behind when i get a chance. thanks for you opinions.  ;)

the steer is actually looking a little better, i remember the heifer was a little wild from a while ago. and my advice to her is i wouldn't lead her with as much slack because you have no control over her like that. but just keep the feed to that steer, along with the blower and water hose and he is mabey going to do you alright

well thank you. they were both pretty green when i took the first photos.  she is a feisty little thing and fallows so much better than being led close for right now.  gives me more room to get out of the way if i need to, which i have had to do a few more times that i should have had to.   but the steer is getting pleanty of grain and attention he is completely halterbroke.

I think that he turned out to be a very nice steer, the first time that i saw him when he was fighting the halter i thought he was going to be hard to tame. now that he is tame, he loves u.  he is a very nice steer, i would like to see more muscling though but that will come, he is looking less green and more like the champion

not sure if i would say that just yet. what are you planning on implanting this calf with? that would add that muscle. also are you going to get him on something like showflexx in the future.

I think he is referring to the champion part, and I would agree with ss95, not so sure I would say that.

i dont plan on implanting, i go al natural. i am also only hitting some small shows since it is my first year, ones with less competition just to ease into showing.  i dont plan on getting champion, but it might be nice to some day. but probably not with him.

getting back to opinions...what do you think?

i think you should go and work for someone who has raised champions and compress your learning phase.

he gets a corn oat mixture and he gets about 6-8 lbs a day
If he is just getting 6 pounds a day that's not even 1% of body weight . He should be getting 3 times that, let alone the fact that isn't a balanced feed. He isn't going to ever be able to bloom with a feed program like you have now.
