He looks really small, and has a very high tailhead… but otherwise he looks ok. Good luck!

He looks like a decent calf not fancy but functional, what does he weigh? I would really start working his hair, he has plenty of it, it is amazing how much softer they look when the hair is trained. I tried to look up the nutritional value for your feeds, the Pro Form is low on both protein and fat, could not figure out which of the payback beef you are feeding so could not find the protein and fat levels for that feed. your steer should be eating about 2.5 to 3 percent of its body weight in feed a day, but you want to make sure the feed you are feeding is giving it the nutrition it needs. It depends on the animal but a calf under a thousand pounds we tend to feed around 14 percent protein and 2.5 fat, after they pass the 1000 pounds we reduce the protein and increase the fat, feed will be around 12.5-13 protein and 4.5-5 fat, adding more fat in a supplement if depending on the animal needs. Feeding them what they need is key.

Have you wormed him yet? Really need to work the hair he looks like he has it need to get it all trained to really pop. There are a lot of good videos out there that really give a good explanation on how to do it.
