Our Christmas Present!

Our good Macho cow (1/2 Simmental, 1/4 Maine. 1/4 Angus) gave us a Christmas present this morning! ANOTHER bull calf! She can make a pretty good bull, the last one won MO state fair in open and junior (pic in my avatar), the the 2011 bull won the junior division at MO state fair. Wish I could get a heifer out of her! But this bull looks promising too, lots of thickness!!! The last pic was of her in September or October. All of her calves have been 3/4 bloods.

I imagine she'd raise a nice heifer.

I would love to say his sire is some great AI bull, but this one is sired by an embryo bull we raised and sold before he was a yearling. He is a Invasion x Blackfoot cow. He was a really nice bull that we sold in our State sale this spring.
We flushed the cow last fall, then had a problem getting her stuck AI (we tried twice after flushing), so I threw her in with the only breeding age bull we had just to get her bred. I think for his first calf, he did a great job!
Time will tell! Just happy we have a live, standing, sucking calf!!!! That is always a great start to Christmas!
