First, what fun it was meeting so many steer planet members!!! Thank you all for coming to us and saying hi!!! Kristi from Windy Ridge Simmentals was so kind!
Our first experience was great. Our heifer sold better than we hoped, and the best part is Shoal Creek bought her, and Ed Rule is someone my daughter absolutely loves and cherishes! He bought her heifer, so she can now go see the heifer and the first calf should be born around the time of his sale in the spring! It made her first sale so much easier to swallow knowing she is going to a home she approves of!
OK, so here are a few pictures. The first one (royal 6) is her selling in the arena. My daughter had so much support from everyone, including the guy she bought the heifer from last year (Don Fisher, standing in the right hand corner in background). She also gets a flush on the heifer in the future!
The second picture is the two of them waiting to sell, and talking to potential buyers. My daughter was nervous, but trying to have fun!
The third picture is Shoal Creek's new manager, JR, showing Rebekah some clipping tips prior to the sale. Robbie McDowell is leaving Shoal Creek to move to Canada, and JR is his replacement. We will miss Robbie, but Rebekah sure liked working with JR. Great people, period! That is why I love the Simmental breed!!!
