Well, we have had a good fall. We have had some fantastic fall calves, which include a Dream On x ETR Ebony Antoinette bull, a Built Right x SOSF Joys Shadow bull, and a Club King X 3/4 Dream On (owned by Jeff Miller) bull calf. We have had two heifers, one sired by Beef Maker (the little heifer I posted on earlier - she is doing GREAT now!) and a Montecito heifer calf. We are pretty much done with fall calving, and start again in December after Christmas.
Attached is a picture of our March Club King x 3/4 Dream On dam (again, owned by Jeff Miller). We are really impressed with these embryos! We have put three in, and have had three pregnancies. This heifer pictured, and the first cow/calf pictured (calf is the days old Club King embryo bull calf) are both a result of those embryos. We have decided to consign a really nice Trademark cow (white blaze) who is carrying the third embryo calf to our November state sale. Since we have a bull and heifer calf already, we decided to share in the wealth (plus, I have two more embryos in the tank). We are keeping the natural heifer calf born this year out of the recip since we think so highly of her.
The third picture is the Dream On embryo calf, and the fourth picture is the Built Right embryo calf.
The really cute face shot is our Montecito heifer calf. We are really impressed with her so far.
Anyway, we have been blessed this fall. We did lose a set of twins (AI bull calfs sired by Final Cut - ABS sire brother to Fat Butt). But we sold all of our yearling bulls, along with a spring weanling bull calf, at Farm Fest this year. And I got a great collection of semen on our state fair winning bull before he left our place. Great year for us!
