Wondering how everybody works partnerships on donor cows? Equal split on eggs? Split on calves? What does the person with possesion get for feed and care?

I have partnered with the same guy on several bulls and now a donor cow.  He keeps them and I do the hauling.  We split the eggs and if we put any eggs in outside recips we split the calves.  This works for us because he doesn't like to haul cattle so he pays for the feed and I pay for the fuel.  It seems to come out about even as far as the cost.  We also split any vet bills.

We are currently in a partnership deal with a doner. Terms are partner makes purchase of doner ( selected by us ) and insures doner in both parties name. We take care of everything else from breeding, feeding, healthcare & flushing. When calves & eggs are sold the money is split 50/50. Good deal for for both parties. This current partner is in it for a investment and took 1.5 years before any ck was written.

Only advice I can give to you is to have it all wrote down and both parties sign, no matter how close you are.  I heard once that the only ship that doesn't sail is a partnership.  I've learned the hard way and would say that this statement is partly true.  What one party perceives as fair the other may disagree but doesn't say anything to keep friendship.

My suggestion would be that if you do enter a partnership make sure it's with a livestock person.  The biggest fallouts that I have seen in these types of partnerships is that non livestock people don't always understand that if something breaths than it can die or break a leg or flush zero eggs, etc.  Most "investors" that are non livestock people don't understand that animals don't read business plans nor do they follow them and that usually ends up bad.
