So I went out to check my cattle the day and found that someone had cut my fence,  to set off aerial fireworks. I was beyond ticked, not only did they have the nerve to cut my fence, set them off but they also left the crud in my pasture, 45+ of lit and unlit boxes of gunpowder. This is not the first time I have had my pasture broken into, and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions? Is there a fencing that I can use that wont brake the bank but wont cut quite so easily as barb wire will?

Post "No Trespassing" signs all over and sleep with the windows open and your vehicle pointed toward the road.  When you hear them go off, try to get a license plate # and press charges.  Our pastures have dried up and will carry a grass fire now.  When I confront the rascals, I tell them to get off, that I have their license plate number and will be pressing charges and that if a fire gets going, I can now find out who they are to sue them.  I used to love fireworks as a kid, but now I hate the dang things.

I would use 2 or 3 strands of hotwire. leave it on at night. so if they go to cut it it gives them a good shock. also you could put up lights or you can call your local police station and tell them your situation and request an officer to patrol your place for a few nights. i knew someone with almost the same problem. they called the police station and reported the problem and requested an officer to patrol. they caught them the next night. I hope this helps.

i was told by a sherriff and game warden that you can get some people on "criminal tresspassing" which is supposively a felony, there has to be tresspassing and the some sort of laws being broke, i guess destruction of property and assets w/ the grass but also poaching and stealing are the main ones you hear about most often. get law enforcement involved b/c then they know the situation has happened before and if/when it happens again the police know it is a repeated offense. i hate people that cross fences and do crap like that, the most commen response when we confront people are " we didn't know anyone owned this land" or " the landowner told we could be down here" and then ask them who that was and they have no clue.....

Adequately posting the property every couple hundred feet makes the "I didn't know" defense harder for them to assert.  License plate numbers and photos or video will help greatly.  People do not like getting their photo taken when they are doing something wrong.  Use a big spotlight for the fireworks jokers at night.  They don't like being under that while you are running the video either.

We've used a simple game camera in the past.  Caught someone hunting on our land, and when confronted, they denied it until we told him we had pictures of both him and his dogs on our cameras.....we heard a lot of stuttering and stammering after that.  He was warned by law enforcment not to come back, and as far as we can tell, he hasnt'.  My son also used our game camera where he works to catch a burglar. Several businesses in the area had been hit, so he and a fellow coworker hung our game camera out of reach, and it only took a few nights until they got several good pictures of the guy trying to break in.  The police were able to ID the guy and my son and his coworker each received a Crime Stoppers reward.  Kind of a neat deal for the two teens!

You people have no imagination.... keep an eye out and when you see them tresspassing again. Shoot in their general direction (don't actually shoot them!) Besides some dirty pants, I am willing to bet they won't be back.
Plus, what are they going to do, call the law and tell them they were doing something illegal and you just happen to be target practicing?
