are these two animals the same?  both show the same sire covino III, the same base cow, but with a different sire, ie dalton and vanitou.

knabe - you will find that with many Maines dual registered or listed in the herd book of the US and Canada there are discrepancies in pedigree - I think the CMAA records are more accurate. You will also find that Maines admitted in to the ASA have pedigrees that differ from the same animal listed in the AMAA - makes ya wonder who's yer daddy or yer great uncle removed 78 times?

Vanitou and Urgence were French fullbloods that stayed in France and no semen was ever sold in North America from those two. So the Canadian pedigree must be a mistake.

The 785 cow was bred by Bogaard and is IMO was one of the great cows and is found in many Maine pedigrees. I would bet her Maternal Grand Sire was probably Dalton.
