Does anyone out there still teach their kids to figure rations using the Pearson Square??   I thought it would be good to post this link if there are young people on here who might be interested in learning to develop their own rations.  Simple and fun to learn.

Cowz, I haven't figure rations using that method for over 20 years. It's a good thing for them to know & understand.
I bet that would be a good homeschool project for Showcalves too!
Thanks for the information!

That will be a great homeschool project for the boys.  We just completed 2 weeks of intensive judging classes with them.  They both qualified for the county 4-H team to go on to state competition in Sept.  (clapping)  Both have been in the past.  The 14 yo is now on the senior team and the 12 is on the junior team.  Always on the lookout for more ag ed ideas for them.

As soon as I saw her psot I thought of you! Anytime you need suggestions- we can brainstorm!

Another thing & this isn't cattle related- but have you ever done a stream monitoring? I've got a lot of information on that from when I was a education specialist for a Soil & Water Conservation district. Lots of fun & they get to go wadding!!!
