maine's have two bloodlines that are polled, both of which i think occurred in north america after importation.  one sp poster posted a bunch of info on a bull they had.  they had to take x-rays and prove parentage to get him registered.

it will be interesting to see if both of these are the same alleles or are different.

i can't remember, but someone had a test for the polled gene that was breed specific, and i think there were more than two tests, maybe 5.

I had a genetics Prof Dr. Sheila Schmutz that was very intrested when she found out about our Fullblood polled.  She wanted blood off of PK's Lady 9K Sire and Dam but by that time they were long gone.
