Do you know the Preamble of your State?

I really found this to be enlightening given the political state of America today.  Enjoy.

i think IL should revise theirs to more accurately reflect the states current views:

Old:
Illinois 1870, Preamble We, the people of the State of Illinois, grateful to Almighty God for the civil , political and religious liberty which He hath so long permitted us to enjoy and looking to Him for a blessing on our endeavors

New:
Illinois 2008, Preamble We, the left wingers of chicago IL, grateful to Rod Bolonavich for the money, payoffs, unethical job appointments for which he hath so long plagued this state, permitted us to enjoy his mismanagement of our funds and looking to him for term limits.

I didn't get to watch the whole thing but from what I did watch I thought it was pretty close to a draw.  JMO.

The debate last night just about made me ill.  For those of you younger kids that don't think speech is important, you need to watch the presidential debates.  The election this year will be won on the ability (inability) to communicate.  Public image is #1 in a media controlled world and John McCain appeared both old and ill prepared to answer the questions.  John should be able to destroy "that one" on almost ever count and just doesn't seem to be able to put his thoughts together enough to answer a direct question.  We have another slick willy on the other hand that gives an elequant delivery and actually doesn't say a thing, but the majority I fear don't realize that.  After the debate last night my husband made the comment that after this election "In God We Trust" will probably be a thing of the past, how sad, I pray he is wrong!

Exactly.  Can't we just make everything north of I 80 and east of Joliet it's own new state?

AAOK, thanks for posting! I was suprised at the number that specifically did not use the word "God". I thought SD might have written a couple when they said "Supreme Ruler of the Universe".
As far as the debate goes I was a little disappointed in John last night. He doesn't have to convince me , but the ones that he needs to I don't think he did. It made me sick when Hussein said "He was raised by a single mother & a grandmother that had to scrimp." Well he was raised by his grandmother & grandfather , his grandmother was the first female vice president of the "Bank Of Hawaii". They were by no means poor, it's just that in 1970 when you're spending $10 to $14 THOUSAND dollars a year to send your grandson to an elite prep high school ,there's probably not a whole lot left over. There was enough left over for Hussein to use cocaine & marijuana in high school. His grandfather had a job also, as a furniture salesman. I just get disgusted with him acting like he is some poor sharecroppers kid .

but we can't vote against him, it's racist.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."  goebbels.

it's amazing how much the left, who tries to label the right as having much in common with hitler, stalin, lenin facism, socialism and communism, (well, corporate facism isn't that much of a stretch) are themselves in it to their ears.  trouble is, that the schools in the cities churn out and import the commies faster than capitalists can.

i guess if the government takes over the right to breed, their numbers might go down, though the government will probably mandate capitalists be made sterile.  what's funny is that the progressive diet and mindset causes sterility and demographic suicide which is why we (we, whatever) need immigration.  someone will kill america before they all have a jim jones type group kill.

JIT- Illinois will trade you Chicago for the cow in your Avatar and a small in-herd breeding interest in LeRoy.

Well sir, you've thought about it, and I'll take your silence as of yet as agreement.  We have an accord!  Illinois-ans rejoice!  Mr. Alexander has agreed to take Chicago off our hands.  And just to be nice, I think we should just float it up the OL lake Michigan free of charge.

wether its  that one or the white one...folks are going to want to see some action asap....lets see if the limbaughs, hannitys, and humes are as patient  (along with the right of center voters) as they have been the last 8 yrs....or will it be...i want it now....fix it....help me.....make it better now....your not  making it better fast enough....will they be more patient with that one or the white one?........i think some folks actually think things are going to "be ok"...the day after the election.......if it is that one....it has to be reassuring to everone that you've still got "the maverick" watchin' your back in the senate....and vice president or not....they's plenty of oil in alaska for "us" done here....wheeew... i thought there for a minute that if the republicans didnt win the election, we werent going to be able to have any of alaskas natural resources......hope the gov  doesnt change her mind and all of a sudden start talking like a tree hugger......wheeew....that was close....oil and gas for everyone....life is good....jbarl

I am beginning to think I got took!  But I am thinking that possession is 9/10ths of the law... so right now I have my cow and bull, and you still have Chicago and NYC, so I think I stay with what I have now. Thanks for the offer... but no thanks. If I were you I would still think about the trade I offered for Quebec. I think that would be a win/win situation.
