Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago .
Body count in the last six months:      292 killed (murdered) in Chicago

State pension fund - $44 Billion in debt, worst in the country.
Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax - 10.25% highest in country. (Look it up).

That's why I want OBAMA to fail. He's tougher on babies than he is terrorists. I want Obamas' policies to fail. Not the country. So JbarL are you a big listener of the Rush show? Sounds like you don't, since you don't know what he is about.

Unreal!!

WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts.

"There are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats," the official said. "We shouldn't let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done."

That wasn't Obama's only jab at Republicans today.

While discussing the stimulus package with top lawmakers in the White House's Roosevelt Room, President Obama shot down a critic with a simple message.

"I won," he said, according to aides who were briefed on the meeting. "I will trump you on that."

The response was to the objection by Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) to the president's proposal to increase benefits for low-income workers who don't owe federal income taxes.

Not that Obama was gloating. He was just explaining that he aims to get his way on the stimulus package and all other legislation, sources said, noting his unrivaled one-party control of both congressional chambers.

Republicans, along with Democratic leaders in the House and the Senate, met with Obama to hammer out details on a stimulus package that has reached $825 billion.

"We are experiencing an unprecedented economic crisis that has to be dealt with and dealt with rapidly," Obama said during the meeting. Republicans say that is too big a burden for a nation already crippled by debt and that it doesn't do enough to stimulate the economy by cutting taxes.

"You know, I'm concerned about the size of the package. And I'm concerned about some of the spending that's in there, [about] ... how you can spend hundreds of millions on contraceptives," House GOP Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) later said. "How does that stimulate the economy?"

But White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs countered: "There was a lot of agreement in that room this morning about the notion that we're facing an economic crisis unlike we've seen in quite some time ... There was agreement that we must act quickly to stimulate the economy, create jobs, put money back in people's pockets."

Gibbs disagreed with those who called the meeting window dressing.

"The president is certainly going to listen to any ideas," he said. "He will also go to Capitol Hill the beginning of next week to talk to Republican caucuses and solicit their input and their ideas."

Obama acknowledged that $825 billion was a tough price tag for some conservatives and deficit hawks to swallow.

"I know that it is a heavy lift to do something as substantial as we're doing right now," he said. "I recognize there are still some differences around the table and between the administration and members of Congress about particular details on the plan," he said. "But I think what unifies this group is a recognition that we are experiencing an unprecedented, perhaps, economic crisis that has to be dealt with," he said.

The president added that legislation governing the use of an additional $350 billion in bailout money for the financial industry must include new measures to ensure accountability.

i wouldn't mind if they stopped listening to rush, if they had xm radio then they could pick up bill cunningham on 700 WLW  ;D! or mike mcconnell or scott sloan for that matter.

all the people who live around cincy know who i'm talking about.

the US currrently has an allotment of 130,000 or so legal immigrants/month, mostly for family unification.  if you multiply that by 20 months, that works out to 1.3 million.

this number is very similar to 1/2 the number of jobs obama wants to "save and create".

i'm thinking that for 4 years, we should shut off immigration, so that the money that americans created to be put in the treasury, actually goes back to them rather than people who haven't paid into the system, and will largely, not pay into the FICA for years.

i'm not sure why this pyramid scheme seems so economically viable.  pretty much the only way you can deal with it is to print money.  this will eventually cause inflation.

but no one cares.  not republicans.  not democrats.  they are too busy lining their pockets and seeking the elimination of the constitution.

obama being interviewed by an arab television station.

Will it still be possible to see a Palestinian state — and you know the contours of it — within the first Obama administration?

THE PRESIDENT: I think it is possible for us to see a Palestinian state — I’m not going to put a time frame on it — that is contiguous, that allows freedom of movement for its people, that allows for trade with other countries, that allows the creation of businesses and commerce so that people have a better life.

so.  when are timetables for anything appropriate?  why aren't any arab countries giving up land for the palestinians?

what we need is more freedom of movement of bombs so israel can be eliminated.

carter seems to think it will happen by simple birth attrition.

democrats.  so pro freedom.  freedom from dissent is all i ever hear from them.

obama.

"My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy," Obama told the Saudi-owned, Dubai-based Al-Arabiya news channel.

not sure where i saw that in the constitution.

here's some potential customers

http://zombietime.com/gaza_war_protest/

here's some interesting background information

http://www.zombietime.com/obama_and_the_weather_underground/

of course, obama could simply be more transparent and open his college records.  but he won't, and the media won't demand it either.

On the left: Barack Obama in New York ca. 1982. On the right: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn in New York in 1982. Had their lives just overlapped?

They were in the same city as each other, at the same time.
They lived near each other.
The went to school near each other.
They had the same political interests.
Their circles of friends and associates intersected.

By sheer coincidence, a decade later in Chicago, they were in the same city as each other, at the same time; they lived near each other; they had the same political interests; their circles of friends and associates intersected.

Or was it not a coincidence at all?
