Well, she died the following day... the vet came about 8am and she layed around untill about 4 pm and got up and gained some strength by evening.  I moved her and the calf to a different pen at night, and she walked in pretty well.  The next morning she was groaning with every breath.  She got up a few times and moved but continued to get worse. She died about 1pm or so.  The calf however, is doing great.  He was 75# at birth, so shouldn't have been too tough of a birth, the heifer's mother had a 98# calf for her first unassisted.  Tough break, but a nice lively calf, at least I didn't loose them both.
