Im putting my list together for this year, im trying to figure out wich heatwave son I will go with, Q dog or Golden Child. I have several GC calves on the ground now and he works well with my cows so far. I also have 7 units of GC left but would like to know more about Qdog. Before anyone writes in Monopoly, smooth sailing or any other bull  keep in mind im only asking about these two bulls suggestions about others will be worthless. Thanks in advance

The qdogs I've seen (over 100 out of a variety of cows) have very little grow in them and are less than moderate.  There were structure problems as well.  I haven't seen as many gc's but there were some of the hairiest calves I've ever seen.  Some could have used a little more in the guts department.  I would use gc out of these two.

I saw a q dog heifer that had hair, thickness, good on her feet and you couldn't ask for a better temperment. She sold in the western OH club calf sale.

I haven't seen many Qdogs either! As for golden child, I have seen quite a few. I ended up with a really good Golden Child that is bred to Rocky, but I dont know, she was a GREAT heifer, but she has kinda slipped the older she gets. But his calves are great

Prob'ly depends somewhat on the cow.  Golden Child is definitely my favorite of the two, but on big framed, tighter middled cows, Qdog might make 'em a little smaller and softer.

I'd say if you're pleased with the calves you've got now, going back the same way ought to be pretty safe.
