Why do some people want to only send prices in an email or PM.  Not complaining, just curious.  The price is the price right?

no.  it's a form of bidding.  that's why people charge to bid people against each other.  if you state the price, it's like a newspaper ad.  don't sweat it, just negotiate.

The reason I dont like to post, is that it can scare potential buyers away, sometimes its better to see the calf in person before you price it, I always try to encourage people to see the
animal first before pricing, but I always add wether the price is firm or not, it really depends on the person but most of the time we can work with the person on the price,
especially on heifers there are always other deals that can be reached involving heifers, like flushing, showing, ownership and calving.  I just think its better to give the seller
the chance to really show you their stock.
