For several years we have fed AAOK's ration for show steers and loved it!  It worked very well for us!  Our kids then started showing heifers two years ago.  Using the same ration, the heifers seemed to get too fat.  If I remember correctly his ration is 60% corn.  A breeder recently told us to only feed 35-40% corn.  Has anyone else had heifers get too fat, or was it just ours?  Anyone else had to adjust AAOK's ration for heifers? And if so, would you be willing to share?  Thanks!

I use a ration very similar to AAOKs ration. For steers I feed at 2-3% of their body weight depending on my goals. For heifers, I will feed them 1.5% of their body weight. All my cattle on this ration get free choice hay.
