I have looked at Sull Achiever's EPD's but I would still like to know what peoples experience has been with calving. Have anyone had any hard pulls? And what type of cows does he work best on?

Black diamond, every time I see you reply on here it's usually something that is aimed to annoy somebody. Kind of like how a tick attaches itself to a dog (annoying). But instead you attach your self to posts on steer planet (annoying).

Your right show boy..

I'd encourage you to find how many two time National Champion females have been in the Shorthorn breed...

I'm betting one in the course of time, and she's the exact same genetically as this group of cows at my place.

And how relevant are those genetics today?  How many heifers have won NAILE twice and jr nationals, and IA beef expo? I can name only one.

Anyway, Achiever is bred to work on cows that need a bit of extension, some rib shape, and a squarer hip.

Doesn't matter- it's an achievement that's not been done since, by anyone...

Now, go and leave a comment on the calf pictures I just posted.

Well since you announced that that heifer is very similar to your calves genetically, I feel like it should matter to you.

Well Black Diamond besides my original post, I think my second post pretty much summed you up pretty well. If all your going to do is bash people that have legit questions on here, go find something better to do with your time. I realize you must have a thing against Shorthorns and that's fine, but you don't have to be a prick to those who raise and enjoy the breed. As for the other people that have posted their input to my question, thank you I really appreciate it.

If you're referring to the two time denver champ Farah "aka The Female of the Nineties" as the enviable one, keep in mind she had a 110lb BW, 8+ frame, and her sire and grand sire had 9+ frame scores.  I imagine calving might be an issue in a group of cows that were the exact same genetically.

For somebody that bashes show cattle and people that promote their cattle off of the laurels of related animals , you sure seem to be ok with doing it when you will benefit from it.

I did not look on line but I think Greenhorns own/promoted this bull?  You might call Josh and ask him.

The weird thing is, he's a Shorthorn "breeder".

If you have more questions about Shorthorns, feel free to PM me if you think I can help!

My only experience with Achiever is a heifer sired by him that I purchased a few years ago at the Great Shorthorn Revival Sale from Esquire Cattle Co. She was bred to Star Bucks her first time and calved unassisted this past year with a pretty nice bull calf.
My opinion would be to not use him as a calving ease sire but I would ask Josh like Sue said. He will tell you whatever experience they have had.
