A while back we talked about rabies in cows - here is the 2006 update
Throughout the US =
cats = 318
cows = 82
dogs = 79
horses = 53
goats/sheep = 11
Rabies in cattle cases per state
9 = KS
8 = VA
7 = NE, TX
6 = PA, OK
5 = ND
4 = IA, SD, VT
3 = MN
2 = MD, NC, NJ, TN
1 = ME, MI, MO, WV
Bottom line - cows can get rabies from a bite from an infected animal and you can get it through their saliva - cow behaving wierdly - wear gloves!
