Here is a picture of a recip we got from our ET center in Alberta. She is a Red Angus X Shorthorn/Charolais. We got 6 of these cows and we are really impressed with them all. This cow is a 4 year old, and she is carrying a Dunbeacon Venture X Prairie Lane Sparkle 1K ET heifer calf and is due in September. I love this cow and think she could be a potential donor herself. This picture does not show how thick she is, but she cannot fit in our squeeze chute now. By the time she is ready to calve, I hope she will fit through a gate! She has tremendous thickness especially through her lower quarter. She is a real ground sow. All six cows we got, as recips are excellent, but this is my favorite of them.
I would be interested to hear what bulls you think might work with her. Unfortunately, there are only a few  clubby bulls available in Canada. I am wondering about using Ivy League on her.

HANNIBAL!  Ivy League would work well too I think, but Hannibal would make some wicked steers outta her.  Dr. Who, Monopoly, and AberTees The Professor are a few more I would think about.

As sound as she looks, Ol Who himself would be a great hit on her, Hannibal also. Calberta Black Impact would give some stretch. She is quiet a breeding piece. Heat Seeker too. There are alot of club bulls that could benefit from her style and thickness.
Others off the top of my head I would try My Turn, Point Taken, Heat wave

From what's available to us my first thought is Monopoly.  Then I think she looks the type that might really mate well to Jigsaw.  With the Hannibal suggestions- and no Hannibal in Canada - Manchild, limited experience using him says use him on big, stout cows!!

that is a cow manchild would work on hands down no questions asked, you would get a pretty colored calf too. Another choice i think would work would be naughty pine. i think along with heatwave and sunseeker, naughty pine has been the best clubby bull out there and i can't argue with his calf crops.

I would say you hit the jackpot here. I have seen many ET centers recip cows before and many have been lower quality or crazy! Who do you use?

not trying to sour the punch but just because she looks good doesn't mean she'll throw great ones.  I'd be skeptical, if she's in the recip pen, maybes there's a reason, who knows, just IMO.

We purchased a recip at the Broken Lance dispersal several years ago, and she turned out to be one of our most productive cows, sometimes you just get lucky!

Monopoly Or Dr Who would make some pretty awsome steers out of her but I think she could make a good calf with just about anything. I also think that Ivy league would be pretty awsome.
The options are pretty wide for a cow like that good luck (cow)

What about Carpe Diem? I have heard he works wonders on commercial type Charolais females.

These recips come from Davis-Rairdan Embryo Transplants Ltd, Crossfield, AB.  They are very selective as to quality of their recips, and I have never seen any that they have supplied that were poor quality or crazy. The ones we got are much above average females.
