Hello,
I'm looking for an opinion on a red bull to breed a 1st calf heifer, who is smoke in color.  In breeding I would like to clean her up in the front end and give her more rib shape and body depth.  Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I cant think of any red clubby heifer bulls. If I was you I'd look Shorthorn or Red Angus. Fat Tony (Red Angus) will do the rib shape and body depth, not sure about front end. Best of luck!

I should have worded my post a little better, she will have calved once already. I have her A.I.'d to The Answer an Angus bull.  So this will be her second calf.  She is a Milkman out of a Cigar cow. Don't know how to post a pick.

Are you looking clubby terminal?,calving ease, maternal? Or something thick that has most of the qualities? There are a coupleREd  Shorthorns-BONIFIED CE:that go back to clubby and full blood maines-They are out there being used in CLUB CALF operations with alot of x-bred cows MBC RED STORM:Genetic Hoeizens or Cattle Visions-owned by Bonnel Club Calves-Indiana-theyve used him well on a bunch of x-breds-hes a hiefer bull that has produced winners (black and red) at: the Hoosier Beef Congress-Indiana State Fair,National Shorthorn JR Show etc. Theres a bull I bred: UB DMCC Top Fuel-Whos had the hell run out of him in the Iowa-Texas Draughts, since he was a yearling.and will have 65-70 progeny before hes 3. Hes CE-out of a top outcross Cumberland doner (one of the top Shorthorn cow fams) Red.and his hiefer calves looked REAL showy that I saw at thier worst,4 days into weaning on concrete:x-breds and Shorthorns. The picture is when he was 7 months old:eek:ut in the lot. O0

Forget the Blues lets try for Pinks!

She is not pink? The coloring in the photo I posted is off. She is a smoke with white spots through her coat. ???

Speaking of a Shorthorn Charolais x -The most impressive female bred this way IVe ever seen was a few years ago at Louisville-Cassie Bauman from Wyoming had a white-shorthorn x charolais hiefer that was the thickest hiefer OF ANY BREED at Louisville-she could walk like an egyptian-and was an absolute MOOSE-probably wieghed 1700 or more-I loved her-allways wondered what happened to her. She should have won the plus show hands down-Ive never said this as sour grapes in all my tooo many years, but the judge was OBVIOUSLY up to political sh%^&*(%$#t O0

Sull Payday might be what your looking for in an all red bull. They are advertising him as a calving ease bull and judging by the picture he looks like he could be pretty stout. He is a new bull so I cant really say what his calves are looking like.
